Audi Fashion Festival 2013 - Audi Star Creation

| |
Hi Huneybees,

I previously wrote a post on the Audi Star Creation 2013 . The winners - Haziq PutraSun Yi Jin and Vu Ta Linh presented a small collection of their pieces, a sneak peek of what to expect in 2014.

I can totally see the rice terraces inspiration on Vu Ta Linh's works. The contours are so strong and every piece is runway ready as well as fashion events ready. It's comfort meets fashion and culture!

Sun Yi Jin has some interesting silhouette. It's not screaming sexy, but I bet with the Asian styled fabric will definitely make you a talking point in the room.

It is so nice to see men's fashion having more colours and shapes. Haziq Putra really presented something wearable and I know many of my male friends were saying they will wear his collection.

The three winners from Audi Star Creation 2012 also took centre stage once again with their 16-piece capsule collections at Audi Star Creation 2013. Designers Roderic Wong, 28 (China), Ko Youngji, 32 (South Korea) and Soravit Kaewkamon, 24 (Thailand) have been developing their collections under the mentorship of Douglas and Odile Benjamin of leading fashion retailer F J Benjamin over the last year and here we are seeing their latest works.

So, first up, POR by Soravit Kaewkamon (24, Thailand). Presenting strong structures and precise cuts on woven fabric and leather, she took on more feminine shapes, including her take on the peplum and her deep interest in prints and pattern-making. I love the hornbill-inspired digital prints, the intricate laser-cut details, definitely for the lady looking to present her fiercer side.

Then, it's Deuxy by Ko Young Ji (32, Korea)Deuxy is designed for women in their early twenties to mid-thirties, a label with character and personality. She have also created a new fabric that is a mixture of silk, knits and polyester for this collection. Inspired by the architectural designs of Parisian houses, mainly the doors, she hopes that it can symbolize a pathway and a beginning, leading her to her destiny in the fashion world.

And finally, Roderic Wong (28, China). There was some fabric manipulation going on and I loved the mix of light and heavy with fabrics such as wool and pashmina with silk. It's a little too dark for my liking, but there's always a time for us ladies to switch it around right. There's definitely something sexy going on...

Great show and it's great to see some amazing works from the Asian designers!
